Difference between Benchmark Set and Benchmark
Think of a benchmark set as a folder where you can create sub-folders (benchmarks) and later assign them to both your own entities and your competitors’ entities.
Let’s say you want to compare your hotels based on their classification or scale — for instance, comparing your luxury hotels to other luxury competitors, and your economy hotels to other economy competitors.
To do this, you would create two Benchmarks: A Benchmark called "Luxury", where you include all your 5-star hotels along with the 5-star competitor hotels you want to compare them against.
A Benchmark called "Economy", where you include all your 1- to 2-star hotels and the relevant 1- to 2-star competitors.
Once these two Benchmarks ("Luxury" and "Economy") are created, you can group them into a Benchmark Set — for example, named "Scale" — to organize your Benchmarks more efficiently.
The Overview tab summarizes data by benchmark set. Each row in the table includes:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Benchmark Set | Name of the set defined in the organization settings |
| Benchmark | List of included entities |
| Own Entities | Total number of your owned entities |
| Competitor Entities | Total number of competitor entities |
| Own RPS | Review Performance Score for your entities |
| Competitors RPS | RPS for competitor entities |
| Own Response Rate | Aggregated response rate of your entities |
| Competitors Response Rate | Aggregated response rate of your competitors' response rate |
| Own Reviews | Average of your reviews |
| Competitors Reviews | Average of competitors reviews |
This tab offers a high-level snapshot of how your portfolio compares to competitors in terms of review volume, responsiveness, and overall engagement.
