How to use filters
Filters are a powerful tool for customizing the KPI values displayed on your dashboards. They are located on the right side of the dashboard and can be opened or closed as needed for convenience.
Opening and Closing Filters
- Filters are open by default to have quick access to them and visualize the applied filters
- Click the "Close Filters >>" button to hide the filters
- To open again the filters, click "Open Filters >>"
Default state
All filters include all values by default, displaying "Include all". No filter is applied unless specified.
Select filter values
Click the pen icon to modify a filter. Choose specific values and click Apply. To reset the filter, select "Include all (no filter applied)" at the top of window.
Deselect filter values
To remove a selected filter value click on it or use the pen icon to deselect options.
Paste values to filter
If you have a list of accepted values for a filter—such as in a spreadsheet or other document—you can easily apply them in CXP by using the Paste values feature.
To do this, copy the values from your file and click the Paste values icon in the filter. Any value that matches an available option in the filter will be automatically pasted and applied.
Please note that the filters are currently case-sensitive, meaning that values must match exactly (e.g. "Germany" is different than "germany").
Reset all filters
Click the circular arrow to reset all filters, restoring the default "Include all" state.
Sticky Dashboard Filters
Benefits
- Save time by applying filters once and using them across all Dashboards
- Maintain consistency in data view and analysis
- Automatically apply selected filters in Reports
- Improve usability with less need to reapply filters
Feature description
With Sticky Dashboard Filters, any filters you apply in one Dashboard will now automatically carry over to all other Dashboards across the platform. This helps you maintain a consistent view when switching between different Dashboards and makes your workflow faster and smoother.
These same filters are also used by default in Reports, so you don’t have to set them again—just generate your Reports with confidence, knowing the right filters are already in place.
However, keep in mind a few limitations when working with Benchmarks:
- Benchmark Filter for Reviews and Sentiments in Benchmark Dashboard are multi-select by default. To get the most valuable and relevant results, make sure you manually select the appropriate benchmark.
This feature is designed to streamline your experience while giving you the flexibility to fine-tune when needed.
Availability of Sticky Filters
Sticky filters are only available for the following fields:
Date, Brand, Source, Country, City, Sector, Categories, Subcategories, Language, Ratings, Goal Type, Goal KPI, Survey Name, Overall Score, Traveller Type, Channels, Custom Segments
Filters outside of this list will not persist across Dashboards or Reports.
Dependent filters
Some filters depend on the values selected in the previous filter. You can recognize those filters because of a grey arrow under it that points to the dependent filter. To use them:
- Choose a value in the first filter.
- Select related values in the second filter based on the first filter’s selection.
Disable a filter
Use the eye icon to turn off a filter entirely, making it inactive. Disabling a filter removes this filtering capability completely from the dasboard.
