You can delete questions from your question library in Survey Manager when they're no longer needed. If a question is still being used in a questionnaire, the platform blocks deletion and shows you where it's in use. Once it's free, a simple confirmation removes it permanently.
- Remove outdated or unused questions from your library without affecting active questionnaires
- See exactly which questionnaires use a question before making any changes
- Confirm before deleting to prevent accidental data loss
How to Delete a Question
- Find the question you want to delete in your question library.
- Click the three-dots menu next to it.
- Select Delete.
- If deletion is blocked, follow the instructions in the message before trying again.
- If the question has no dependencies, confirm the deletion in the dialog that appears.
Note: Deletion is permanent. Once confirmed, the question can't be recovered.
When Deletion Is Blocked
A question can't be deleted while it's used in one or more questionnaires. The blocking message shows the question name at the bottom and explains it's in use. Click Edit on the question, then go to Usage to see which questionnaires include it. Remove the question from all of them, then delete it.
