The Rules Based on Entity Attributes functionality allows you to display specific Survey questions based on the unique characteristics of each entity. For example, you can choose to ask questions about a swimming pool only if the hotel has the "Pool" attribute. This ensures that guests receive relevant questions, improving their response experience and reducing Survey fatigue.
Benefits of the Feature
Personalized Questionnaires: Show only relevant questions to guests based on the Entity's actual features.
Optimized Survey Length: Keep the Survey concise and engaging by skipping irrelevant questions.
Improved Guest Experience: Reduce friction and make it easier for guests to complete the Survey.
Better Data Quality: Collect accurate and meaningful responses related to the hotel's actual offerings.
Flexible Configuration: Easily manage, edit, or remove rules as your organization’s needs evolve
Feature Details and How to Use It
To use this feature, you need to have segments defined in your Organization. You can choose between:
Global segments: such as brand, city, continent, country, or sector. Learn more about segments here.
Custom segments: based on your own organizational needs. Learn how to create and assign custom attributes here.
Once your segments are ready, follow these steps:
Open the Questionnaire Editor and navigate to the Rules step.
You will see a list of all questions included in the Survey.
Expand any question item. (Note: This feature is currently not available in the Submit section, but support for that is coming soon.)
In the section labeled “Show question only if”, click + Add more.
-
Configure the condition:
Condition: Entity attribute
Entity attribute: Choose the attribute you want to use for rule logic (e.g., "Restaurant")
Operation: Select either “is” or “is not”
Option: Select one or more values (e.g., "Yes")
-
To add more conditions, click + Add more again. Keep in mind:
Multiple conditions are combined using AND logic—all conditions must be true for the rule to apply.
Click Save changes.
After saving, you can preview the Survey to see how the rules are applied.
Managing Rules and Attribute Changes
Editing or Deleting Rules: Once a rule is created, you can return to the Questionnaire Editor at any time to modify or delete it.
Deleted Attributes or Options: If an attribute or one of its options is deleted from the Organization settings, the rule will no longer work and will not be applied to the Survey.
Renamed Attributes or Options: If the name of an attribute or one of its options is changed, the rule will still function as expected. The updated name will automatically appear in the editor.
New Attributes or Options: When new attributes or options are added to the Organization settings, they may not appear in the Questionnaire Editor immediately. It may take several hours for this information to propagate across the platform.
