Benefits of using segments in dashboards
Selecting segments for your Dashboard allows you to focus on the most relevant data for your needs. With this feature, you can streamline your analysis, tailor insights to your priorities, and make informed decisions with ease. The ability to filter Dashboard data by selected segments ensures a personalized and efficient experience.
Types of Segments
Global Segments
Global segments are predefined and cannot be modified. These segments are based on general attributes of entities as stored in our database. They primarily refer to geographical attributes, brand affiliations, and the hospitality sector to which an entity belongs.
Custom Segments
Custom segments are defined at the organization level and can be customized to suit your specific needs. These segments can refer to any entity attribute that is meaningful to your organization and are applicable to all entities.

Selecting Segments Applicable to Dashboards
On the Entities page, you can select which segments are visible in the dashboards.
To modify the segments available in your dashboard:
- Click on the On Dashboard chip next to a segment.
- Select or deselect the segments you want to visualize.
Important Notes
- You can select a total of 10 segments to visualize in the dashboard.
- Global segments (5 of them) are always selected by default, leaving room to choose 5 additional custom segments.
- Even not included in this selection list, the Entity is always a segment available in all dashboards.
Using Segments in Dashboards
Once you have configured the segments, you can view your data segmented across the various dashboards.
To change the segment displayed in a widget:
- Locate a widget that supports segmentation.
- Click on the dropdown menu within the widget.
- Select the desired segment to filter and view your data.
